VTCoins.com, the website of Puro's Coins, (full disclosure: my brother, Tim, is the owner) has a  robust and powerful inventory management system behind it.

Puro's Coins has been in business for over thirty years, and has recently been doing a brisk business over the internet, both through Ebay and their original website. They decided they needed to significantly upgrade their internet presence, and needed a site tailored to selling rare coins.

Managing and presenting coins for sale has its own special challenges- there are specific classifications, grades, modifiers and types. The very specialized needs of a numismatic e-commerce site made a generic e-commerce interface inadequate.

We built a system (unveiled in 2001) that allows Puro's Coins to add, edit, and manage thier coin inventory, including pictures, all with a simple web-based interface. They can add new varieties and categories, and have full control over what each of the major pages contain.

Users can set up accounts, ask questions about specific coins, get information from the built-in knowledgebase and submit credit cards securely.
